![]() In addition to the funds raised as part of the Expo, the chapter members donate hundreds of hours each year working on local conservation projects, such as planting willows to stabilize banks and provide shade and cover for trout, constructing in-stream structures to create holding water or to scour out spawning gravel, and building fence to exclude livestock from sensitive riparian areas. The membership area stretches from Blackfoot in the south to the Montana border on the north, and from Mackay in the west to the Wyoming border on the east, excluding the Teton Valley. The Snake River Cutthroats is the oldest Trout Unlimited chapter in Idaho, founded by Dr Jim McCue in 1972 as the Upper Snake River chapter. New to the Expo this year is a casting pond, where casting gurus will be sharing their wisdom and where potential customers can try out new rods. A Video Fly Tying Theatre will highlight several notable tiers with a close-up view of their skills.
